Home / News / Newsletter 17 - RIVEN AND TIMBER EFFECTS ON CONCRETE PRODUCTS: FLAT TILES AND

The trend to use natural materials such as stonework, timbers and slates in the beautification of buildings and streets is becoming more and more evident throughout the world. Unfortunately with the price of natural materials being expensive coupled with limited availability there is now a demand for concrete products to reproduce the natural beauty of these materials in their appearance. Moreover concrete product selling prices are both more favourable and affordable.

Vortex Hydra now enables its customers to reproduce these natural appearances on both flat tile and wall cladding products by offering a special roller device made with a special non-stick plastic material, to be positioned between the extrusion head and the cutting unit on its production machinery. This special roller system offers flexibility in obtaining the required surface finish by applying a predetermined pressure on the product surface resulting in different ‘vein’ effects that can replicate either a natural slate roof appearance or a timber cladding effect. With more than 40 years continued investment in technology, Vortex Hydra can provide a wide range of ‘value added’ finishing to extruded concrete products so meeting the ever changing needs and demands of its extensive customer base. We will only be too pleased to provide you with more information as we continually study new concrete products. Simply contact us and ask more!
